Black Polyethylene (PE) metric compression elbows.
Compression fittings are intended for use with 'poly pipe'. They attach and seal the pipe by a screwing-gripping mechanism and o-ring resp. The elbow changes the direction of pipework. Both ends and equal sizes and suit poly pipe.
The fittings are manufactured from high quality materials that ensure strong connections for many years. The high performance polyethylene material has excellent chemical, corrosion and UV resistance to ensure long term performance even in direct sunlight. See here for a list of advantages of PE pipe.
Poly pipe comes in coils available in a range of lengths and sizes. Typically they are available in 25-100metre coils. This pipe is not suitable for applying threaded fittings directly to it.
We don't recommend 16mm fittings, the pressure loss is too great. Typically 25mm+ sizes are used, as they aren't expensive and offer much higher flow.
These are made to AS/NZS4129 & ISO14236 – Fittings for polyethylene pressure pipe systems. They also comply with AS/NZS4020 – Products for use in contact with water intended for human consumption with regards to their effect on the quality of water.
Typically sizes from 16mm to 110mm.
Suitable for working pressures up to PN16 (1600 kPa, 235 psi)
These are used for higher pressure (consistent with main pressure). A further range is available to be used in rural/irrigation application."Always use a licensed plumber">licensed plumber is required for fitment to your house or business, if this product is used in pipework connected to the mains.
