Waterless traps are a range of self-sealing waste valves available in 40mm & 50mm. Used for Basins, sink, bath, or floor wastes
How it works
As a dry sealing valve, it utilizes a purpose-designed membrane to create an airtight seal between the living space and the drainage system.
The self-sealing valve opens under the water pressure of a fixture emptying and closes to form a tight seal after the fixture has discharged.
The traps are typically made from polypropylene. The PP is used as it has a slippery surface and therefore the matter will be less likely to stick.
Traps are an integral part of the sewer and septic system. They are used to stop odors from pipework (esp black and grey water) infiltrating the environment and causing health concerns.
Traps have threaded fittings at each end to interface with loose nut female BSP threaded on the inlet and DWV pipe on the outlet of the trap.
The BSP thread mates with the male thread on the waste outlet‚
All screwed fittings are hand tightened
Tips for install
Traps be installed Vertically or horizontally.
They are fitted as close as possible to the fixtures, typically attached to the waste outlet.
The PP material cannot be joined via glue, so all connections are by rubber compression seals.
