We all know that WELS is important for consumers to know how to choose the most efficient products available to them. However, there can be confusion from a plumbing perspective on when and where you need to comply with the standard.
To help with this we have set out below a summary of what's required from an industry perspective to help you comply.

AS / NZS 3500 Plumbing and Drainage - Australian Government
Description
You are required to comply with this standard if you intend to use or install one of the following products in a plumbing installation:
- showers
- dishwashers
- clothes washing machines
- lavatory equipment
- urinal equipment
- tap equipment
- flow controllers.
This standard applies to alterations, additions and variations as well as new installations.
